This policy applies to BladeVault services operated under the BladeVault business name, including the iOS application, website pages, support workflows, and related moderation tooling.
2. Information We Collect
- Account and identity data: account identifiers, sign-in credentials managed through Apple platform services, profile information you provide, and language preference.
- Collection and post data: knife records, specifications, comments, likes, saves, structured reviews, and media uploads.
- Owner-only metadata: optional fields such as price paid, acquisition source, and maintenance notes, visible only to your account unless you explicitly share them.
- Support data: information you submit through the BladeVault support form, including your contact details and message contents.
- Technical and usage data: app version, device model, operating system details, diagnostic events, and interaction metadata needed for reliability and abuse prevention.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide and maintain BladeVault features, including collection tools, compare tools, and community posting.
- Synchronize your data across Apple devices using CloudKit-backed infrastructure.
- Operate moderation, fraud prevention, and abuse reporting workflows.
- Respond to support requests, account recovery inquiries, export requests, and deletion requests.
- Improve product quality, reliability, localization, and performance.
4. EXIF and Upload Privacy
BladeVault strips EXIF metadata from uploaded photos by default to reduce unintentional location or device metadata exposure. You are responsible for reviewing media content before sharing publicly.
5. Data Sharing
BladeVault does not sell personal data. We share data only when required to operate the service, comply with law, or protect users and platform integrity.
- Apple CloudKit: storage and synchronization for account data and app content.
- FormSubmit: delivery of website support form submissions to BladeVault operations.
- Legal and safety disclosures: when required by law, legal process, or urgent safety needs.
6. Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for service operation, compliance, dispute resolution, and security. Public community content may persist until deleted by you, removed by moderation, or removed through account deletion workflows.
7. Your Controls and Rights
- Manage public/private visibility settings for applicable content.
- Request an export of your BladeVault data.
- Request account deletion and associated personal data deletion.
- Submit correction requests for inaccurate account information.

8. Children
BladeVault is not directed to children under 13. If we learn that personal data was submitted by a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will remove the data as required by law.
